From the Zebras - Round 3

As of the GCHL games to be played this Thursday the 9th of April, all players will be required to wear all mandatory equipment, as defined under IHQ rules and the current IIHF Rule Book.

While it is the responsibility for each player to wear the correct equipment, On-ice officials will be able to visually check that players are wearing shin guards, protective pants, elbow guards, shoulder pads and an approved helmet.

When it is obvious that such equipment is not being worn, offending players will be immediately sent off the ice. Any player who returns without the required equipment, or continues to play after having been ordered off the ice, will be assessed a minor penalty.

In addition to the equipment listed above, the following equipment relating to player's age is also required:

Players born after December 31, 1974 shall wear, as a minimum, a half facial shield or half cage.
Players born after December 31, 1990 shall wear a full facial shield or full cage, together with an approved Throat Protector, as well as Mouth Guard.
